This difference is due primarily to the fact that the Chinese tradition does not separate the body and soul.
Chinese medicine claims that in addition to purely physical functions, every organ has an emotional, mental, and spiritual function. That is, the soul and mind exist in every cell of the body and in its energy field. Therefore, the internal organs are considered more as a unity of the body, mind and spirit than as anatomical formations with certain physiological functions.
