How to help a dying witch. The Sorcerer's Long Death

Both witches and sorcerers died terribly, since it was believed that the devil would not allow them to die. Therefore, before death, the witch and the sorcerer tried to pass on their knowledge to another, since keeping it to themselves is a sin. In case of a difficult death, the “kochet”, the front rafters of the roof, was raised by driving a wedge under it or the “horse was removed” (“the horse” is a decoration on the front rafters of the roof). It was believed that if you looked through this hole inside the hut, you could see how the devils tormented the soul of the sorcerer.

Under no circumstances was it possible to meet the dying witcher's gaze. If it was believed that meeting the fixed gaze of any dead person was very dangerous, since the dead could “take him away” (and that is why, among almost all peoples, the funeral rite required that the dead people cover their eyes or even their face), then looking into the eyes of a dying sorcerer - simply deadly. The sorcerer’s gaze contains a force that can harm not only people, but also acts no worse than any natural disaster that could cause some kind of natural disaster.

Thus, S. Maksimov gives a story about a certain sorcerer from the Oryol province of Bryansk district, whose daughter, obeying the gaze of the deceased, placed fresh compressed rye in his coffin. Immediately after the funeral, thunder struck, and out of nowhere a black thundercloud with hail appeared and knocked out all the crops. Since then, every year on the day of the funeral of this sorcerer, “God’s punishment” began to befall (the most amazing thing, as the folklorist writes, is that in fact, in 1883, 1884 and 1885, hail during a thunderstorm beat bread only in this one village), so the peasants finally decided in peace, dig up the grave and take out the rotten sheaf. And only then, as they said in the village, everything calmed down.

After the death of the sorcerer, a terrible stench spread from his corpse, and the body decomposed on the same day.

People also believed that if the Psalter was read over a sorcerer or witch for three nights in a row, then every night the deceased sorcerer would rise from the grave and try to grab the person scolding him. If you don’t get scared, stand in a circle surrounded by a steel knife and continue reading prayers, then on the third night the witcher will truly die and will never again scare the living. This plot is well known to us from the story “Viy” by N.V. Gogol.

Sorcerers and witches were buried according to Christian rites, like other peasants who died a natural death, but sometimes they were buried late in the evening. This happened when the relatives of the deceased, afraid of “visiting her from the grave,” asked the priest to read “sworn prayers” over her, and therefore wanted fewer people to perform this rite.

Often, after death, a witch would come to her household at night and do housework, just as she had during her life. To get rid of these terrible visits from the witch, she was nailed to the coffin with a stake, or at least the lid was nailed to the coffin with aspen stakes. They did the same with the sorcerers who began to “walk” at night.

And we would like to end this chapter with the Ukrainian fairy tale “Ostap the merchant’s son reprimands the lady,” which tells how exactly the witches died and how exactly they were reprimanded.

“In a certain state there lived a merchant, he had a son Ostap. Ostap learned to read and write and hired himself to work for a rich man. He worked well for him for three years, received a salary for all this time and got ready to go home.

He walks along the road, and a beggar trudges towards him - lame and blind, and asks for holy alms for Christ's sake. The merchant's son gave the poor man all the money he had earned and came home with nothing; and then there’s a misfortune - my father died, I have to bury him and pay my debts. The boy was thrown off his feet, but managed to get things done and even began to continue his father’s business: he began to bargain.

Soon he heard that two of his uncles were loading ships with goods and wanted to go overseas. “Give me,” he thinks, “and I’ll go!” Maybe my uncles will take me with them.” I went to them to ask.

The uncles promised. “Come,” they say, “tomorrow!” - and the next day, just before dawn, they set sail and left alone, without their nephew.

Ostap was sad, but his mother was a smart woman and said to him:

Don't worry, son! Go to the market, hire yourself a clerk - just choose one that is older; old people are experienced, quick-witted in everything. As soon as you hire a clerk, make a ship and go overseas together. God is not without mercy!

Ostap the merchant's son obeyed, ran to the market, and a gray-haired old man met him:

Where are you hurrying, good fellow?

Grandpa, I’m going to the market, I want to hire a clerk.

Hire me!

What will you take?

Half the profit.

The merchant's son agreed and accepted the old man as a clerk.

They made a ship, loaded it with goods and sailed away from the shore. The wind was fair, the ship was good, and Ostap arrived in a foreign country at the same time as his uncle’s ships were entering the pier.

In that state, the king’s daughter died, and she was a terrible witch. They took her to the church and every night they sent one person to her to be eaten. Many people died, the tsar-father and his witch-daughter could not do anything: the power of her spell was painfully terrible.

"What to do? - the king thinks. “This way, perhaps, my kingdom will not stand.” I thought and thought and came up with an idea: instead of my people, send visitors from other lands to my daughter. According to his decree, no matter which merchant appears at the pier, he must first spend the night in the church, and then, if he survives, he can buy, sell, and go back.

So the newly arrived merchants converged on the pier and began to judge and decide who should go to church first. They cast lots, and the eldest uncle got to go on the first night, the youngest uncle on the second night, and Ostap the merchant's son on the third night.

The uncles got scared and let's ask their nephew:

Darling Ostapushka! Spend the night in the church for us; take whatever you want for your service, we won’t argue.

Wait, I'll ask grandpa.

I went to the old man.

“So and so,” he says, “the uncles pester, asking to work for them.” What do you recommend, grandpa?

Well, work hard; just let them give you three ships in return.

Ostap the merchant's son conveyed these words to his uncles, they agreed:

Okay, Ostap! The six ships are yours.

When evening came, the old man took Ostap by the hands, led him to the church, placed him near the coffin and drew a circle:

Stand strong, don’t go out from behind the line, read the Psalter and don’t be afraid of anything!

He said and left, and Ostap the merchant’s son was left alone in the church, unfolded the book and began to read the psalms. As soon as twelve o'clock struck, the lid of the coffin rose, the princess stood up and walked straight to the line. "I will eat you!" - threatens, rushes forward, screams in different voices, both like a dog and like a cat, but cannot cross the lines. Ostap reads but doesn’t look at her. Suddenly the roosters crowed, and the princess threw herself into the coffin at random, only her dress hung over the edge.

In the morning the king sends his servants: “Go to the church, pick up the bones.” The servants unlocked the doors, looked into the church - and the merchant’s son stood alive in front of the fob and kept reading the Psalter.

The next night it was the same; and on the third day in the evening the old man took Ostap by the hand, brought him to church and said: “As soon as twelve o’clock strikes, you, without hesitation, climb into the choir. There is a large image of Peter the Apostle there, stand behind him - don’t be afraid of anything!”

The merchant's son began to read the Psalter, as on previous nights. Exactly at twelve o'clock he sees the lid rise from the fob. He then quickly went to the choir and stood behind the large image of Peter the Apostle. The princess jumped out after him. I ran to the choir, searched and searched, went around all the corners, but couldn’t find it. She approached the image, looked at the face of the holy apostle and trembled; suddenly a voice came from the icon: “Get out, wretched one!”

At that very moment the evil spirit left the princess, she fell on her knees in front of the icon and began to pray with tears.

Ostap the merchant's son came out from behind the icon, stood next to her, crossed himself and bowed.

In the morning, the royal servants come to the church and look at Ostap the merchant’s son and the princess on their knees and praying to God. They ran to the king and reported about the miracle that had happened.

The king was delighted, went to the church himself, brought the princess to the palace and said to the merchant’s son: “You have delivered my daughter and the whole kingdom; marry her, and as a dowry I give you six ships with expensive goods.”

The next day they were re-married; all the people feasted at the wedding - boyars, merchants, and simple peasants.

A week after that, Ostap the merchant's son got ready to go home; He said goodbye to the king, took his young wife, boarded the ship and ordered him to go to sea. His ship runs across the sea, and after it twelve others sail; six ships that the king gave, and six ships that he served with his uncles.

Halfway there the old man says to Ostap the merchant's son:

When will we start sharing the profits?

At least now, grandfather! Choose six ships that you like.

That's not all; The princess must also be divided.

What are you saying, grandpa, how to divide it?

Yes, I’ll cut it in two: half for you and half for me.

God be with you! This way no one will get it; Better let's cast lots.

“I don’t want to,” the old man replies, “it’s been said: the profits will be split in half, so be it!”

He pulled out a sword and cut the princess in two - various reptiles and snakes crawled out of her. The old man killed all the reptiles and snakes, folded the princess’s body, sprinkled it with holy water once - the body grew together, sprinkled it in another - the princess came to life and became more beautiful than before.

During their lives, witches sin a lot, because it is with their help that rites and rituals associated with evil spirits, damage, curses, and love spells are performed.

Not everyone knows how a witch dies. Unlike an ordinary person, one associated with evil spirits dies painfully and hard. In the old days, the house of a dying witch was boarded up tightly and no one was present at the time of her death. Sometimes people heard wild screams and screams for several days and nights in a row. But, if a witch transfers her gift before death, then she dies easily and quickly, without suffering.

It is believed that just before death, the souls of those whom the witch killed come to her. It is the souls of the innocent killed that make the sorceress experience torment. They had never approached a dying witch or given her anything. The sorceress felt the end approaching and tried to make her last minutes easier by trying to transfer her dark power to another person, even if he was against it. And along with power, she transferred all the sins for the created damage, curses and love spells. It was not uncommon for her to be responsible for the death of more than one person. People unknowingly took responsibility for everything created by someone else and, after death, were held accountable for the sins of others at the judgment of God.

There is also a version that the life of a dying witch is supported by the entities that served her and performed menial work. These spirits and demonic creatures do not want to be left without their owner, so they support her body, increasing torment and suffering.

So how can you make the death of a witch easier and protect yourself from a terrible gift or curse on your last breath? This question interests many people. In the old days, in order for the spirit of the witch to leave the body faster, men dismantled the roof of the house or raised the ridge on which the roof slope was installed. It was believed that in a closed space a sinful soul cannot find a way out and therefore is in no hurry to leave the body.

But all these measures are good if the witch lives in a private house and it is possible to dismantle the roof slope. But for those who live in an apartment, dying is much more difficult, because you can’t make out the concrete ceiling. But even in this situation, you can help a dying person. To do this, you need to open windows and doors throughout the apartment. Those entities that were the sorceress’s assistants leave through these peculiar portals. And with the departure of the evil spirits who served the dying woman, her torment decreases.

It is also necessary to close all the mirrors in the dying person’s home so that the witch does not go into the looking glass and harm the people who will live in the house or apartment after her death.

Even in the old days, you can ease the death throes of a witch with the help of a spindle made of aspen. The spindle must be new. It was given into the hands of a dying woman and the woman had to pronounce all her sins and terrible deeds on this thing. After which the spindle had to be broken in half and burned in the fire. To make a fire it was necessary to use only spruce paws. After the spindle burned out, the witch calmly and without suffering gave up the ghost.

Also, in order for a person’s death to occur as quickly as possible, the room in which the dying person is located must be fumigated with incense. This smell is unpleasant and scary for dark entities who do not want to leave their owner and prolong her life.

Not all people know how witches die. This is a long and scary process. If possible, it is desirable to facilitate the departure of a sinful soul, but at the same time one must be wary of the transfer of terrible witchcraft power.

There is often a statement that witches die difficult. That “sins” are dragging us down, that we were involved in dark things, etc.

I'll start in order :)

Often this opinion exists among villagers, among whom morality is very simple. Dark (evil) is anyone whose ethics differ from ours, especially if they still do not see why a person does certain actions. The wolf eats sheep, he is bad. We eat sheep, they are good. The neighboring guys from the village are bad, they can take our girls away at the dance. We are good, especially if we managed to steal the girls at their dances, those from another village.

Sorcerers have never been distinguished by ethics similar to humans, therefore, for rural residents they could be called “friends” with a big stretch. Of course, it wasn’t possible to beat them either, because... It’s scary, but it’s easy not to love behind your back. Naturally, with such a morality, everyone who is not us is bad. Summoning spirits means a theeem witch. In fact, it is not the dark witch, but the head of those who do not understand anything about who is being called and why. To say that witches do not do damage would not be true. But even this does not make them “dark” or “sinful” (which is generally a purely human term, and even a Christian one). A village peasant also periodically punches someone in the face and goes hunting, but this does not make him consider himself shady or evil.

Witches, whose ethics and logic coincide with humans, are usually considered good and “kind”. The rest are evil. Witches are generally evil, but there are exceptions among them. Indeed, a witch who has morals that coincide with human ones is a rarity.

But thank God, the world works a little differently. And even the most evil wolf or bear dies calmly, and is certainly no worse than a “good” sheep or cow at the slaughterhouse.

The world lives not only by human morality. And guys from the neighboring village sometimes play weddings with girls. 🙂

So why do witches die badly? Moreover, most often such rumors circulate about village witches, or those living in nature.

They often say that you have to dismantle the roof, or it’s good if the witch gives her Power to someone before leaving (hence the term “Gift”). Otherwise, she lies in pain, “there’s no way she can leave.” It is often said that sorcerers then come in the form of a ghost and still cannot calm down.

Everything is very simple here. Like returns to like. What was made from subtle frequencies returns there, what was made from coarse frequencies (up to matter) returns there.

As they say, the soul goes to heaven, and the body goes to earth.

So, that same Soul of these witches usually cannot leave and cannot. And it is not “darkness” or “sins” that pulls it at all. And the ordinary one, pumped up in comparison with the tops, is the astral.

Village witches do most of their magic with the lower levels (low-frequency flows of energy), as a result of which the astral body develops so much, especially the very “lower” astral (for example, those working with the dead), that it is the concentration of a much greater Power than that same “Soul” (high-frequency energies ). And since it is the astral body that is the buffer between the Soul and the body, and the one who connects them together, then when it receives its own consciousness and great Power, it can hold this connection for a very long time. As a result, the entity (soul) has played enough on Earth for a long time and wants to leave, and the astral, thinking that without the Soul it will not survive, holds it. And if you don’t uncouple them (don’t add power to the entity), then everything can end badly for the entity; you’ll have to live a little longer. Sometimes it’s true that if the astral body has so much energy that it no longer needs the essence, then it can let it go and continue to control the body. Such a sorcerer no longer suffers, but turns into a completely different form of existence. This is where the legends about the undead come from, witches who live for several hundred years and don’t look very appetizing. The tops are gone, the beauty of their glow too, but the bottom remains, and it exists as best it can, of course, the appearance will not be attractive. 🙂

But these are still exceptions, for the astral body to swing so much that it could control the material body without a Soul at all.
More often, it is either possible to retain the essence, or if, through joint efforts, it is nevertheless released, then the astral body comes out and continues to exist independently.

And then we have those very ghosts (ghosts consist of low-frequency energy that is so highly developed during life, or has such a charge of emotions, for example in the case of a severe violent death, that they can still exist for a hundred years). Among peoples who have their own shamans, they often say that after death a shaman becomes the Spirit of a river or forest, mountain, etc. Again, the frequencies themselves of the Spirits of Nature are very similar to the astral ones. A shaman who basically develops these very skills during his life after death has such a strong astral body that it cannot die on its own, nor can it be eaten by other Spirits. This is already a very independent unit, which finds some kind of habitat for itself, for example, a pond, forest, mountain, etc. Moreover, such a Spirit’s own memory is very developed. Therefore, they often address him by the name that the shaman had during his lifetime. This essence has countless names (after all, it lives many more than one life), and the astral (astral body), as it was born, as it was called, has such a name.

It seems that this part of the “terrible deaths” has been sorted out. During your lifetime, swing the top too, so that there is no such astral that interrupts everything, and everything will be fine. Religion often suggests not following the desires of the astral plane, keeping it in a hungry body; this greatly helps those who have weak upper parts, because then a weak astral is also offered under them.

But it’s better to develop calmly and evenly across all frequencies. Then there will be no distortions and “bad” deaths.

Now about the fact that a sorcerer can give away his Power. Whoever takes it usually gets sick for a week or two, and then he himself becomes a sorcerer. And the sorcerer who gave it away dies quickly and easily. Why is this so? He just drains his lower classes, who really want to live. And it doesn’t matter in whose body. Why are people not in a hurry to take such a “Gift”?

Everything seems to be so good, you do nothing, you get sick for a week and that’s it – you’re a sorcerer.

It's not that simple. And the point here is precisely the disease and the reason that causes it.

What happens to the bottom of the “Gift” who took it? After all, he also had them before communicating with the sorcerer. So they are suppressed by the much more powerful astral body of the sorcerer. At best, there is a mixing of the lower parts of the taker and the lower parts of the taken. But this does not always happen; for this you need to have considerable strength yourself. More often, the lower parts of the taker are simply crushed and replaced by the astral body of the sorcerer. In fact, it’s a good kind of shelter. Another person now lives inside him. That’s why those who “took the power” change.
That’s why people don’t really like taking power from sorcerers.

If you yourself are a sorcerer, and your astral body is so strong that it can completely digest the astral of a dying person, then don’t think twice about it. You will only become stronger, if, of course, you can digest it and add to it.

To summarize, I can say that most of the stories about “hardly dying sorcerers” have little relation to some hypothetical sins. You just need to develop yourself evenly. Otherwise, due to lack of proportionality, the physical body can be reduced to a “mirror disease.” 😉

The sorcerer cannot die without passing on his gift

It doesn’t really matter whether you believe in the power of witchcraft, or the effects of black magic, or supernatural forces. Even better, if you are a non-believer, healthy skepticism has never hurt anyone...

The village of Zaburovo - the sorcerer died for a long, painfully long time. He was old and wanted death himself, but it still did not come. Why? The whole village was whispering about this: a sorcerer cannot die until he gives his gift to someone. To do this, he just needs to touch the person... But none of his loved ones wanted such a “gift”. So the old sorcerer was toiling.
In the end, he gave up and stopped begging his sons to come to him. And soon he pointed with his eyes at the ceiling above him and ordered to dismantle it...
There is a popular belief that when a witch or sorcerer dies and cannot die, the roof or at least the corner of the house above the place where the dying person’s bed is located should be dismantled. And you still need to unlock all the locks and constipations in the house, open the doors. This seems to help the sorcerer die.
The sons agreed, and calling the neighbors, they began to dismantle the roof. We had almost finished when we heard the old man’s laughter from the house. Sensing something was wrong, they went down from the roof. And the sorcerer’s granddaughter Masha comes out of the entryway. She admitted that she felt sorry for her grandfather, who moaned and kept asking for water. So I brought him a cup. And the old man in the hut kept laughing...
According to researcher A. Gorbovsky, who wrote down this story, the family then took the girl to church and chastised her with prayers. But it didn't help. She accepted the gift. And now the sorceress Masha is well known not only in the surrounding villages, people come to her from the city and even from the region.
Not everyone will be chosen by the sorcerer as his successor. But even if the choice is made, this does not mean that this person will be able to cope with the unusual “gift”. For some, this can turn into a real disaster.

Here is another case stored in the archives of researchers of phenomena of this kind.
...For her eyes, Marfa Petrovna was called a witch and her “evil eye” was feared like fire. As soon as the witch looked at some kid on the street, he began to act up and get sick. She herself died at 86 years old. But how! All loved ones were forced to leave home because things went crazy there. And the neighbors even called the police - there was an incredible noise in the apartment, you never know.
But, as you can see, the old witch was unable to pass on her witchcraft inheritance to anyone during her lifetime. When Marfa Petrovna was buried, she lay in a coffin covered in bruises - marks from the end of the world at home. But even on the street, as soon as the body was taken out to the bus, something incomprehensible began to happen. Suddenly it got colder, a hurricane wind blew in, and a snowstorm began.
A resident of the Amur region, Alexandra Ch. (granddaughter of Marfa Petrovna), said:
-At the cemetery, when I approached the grave to hang a wreath, I suddenly felt that someone grabbed my legs with both hands at the ankles. Despite the wind and cold, I started to sweat. I tried to lift my feet off the ground and leave, but an unknown force wouldn’t let me. The ridiculous situation lasted for a minute, but then it seemed to me that it lasted an eternity. Now I don’t remember how I returned home. From that time on, something inexplicable began to happen.
One day, I was writing my thesis at night. Suddenly I hear someone scratching at the front door. I thought - this is our cat. I opened it, and there was no one there. Then the folding bed behind me began to creak. I come to her, and a strange breeze blows in my face, even my hair is swaying. I straightened them and then received such a slap on the wrist that even sparks fell from my eyes. And, as you understand, there is no one at home. Since then I have been afraid to sleep without light...
Another case. One summer night I was sitting and sewing a new dress for myself - in the morning I was getting ready to fly to my friend in Zaporozhye. It's hot outside, so the windows are open but the curtains are drawn. Suddenly I see with my peripheral vision that some lights and shadows flashed between the curtains. For some reason I wasn’t scared at first, I said:
“Come in, Master, it will be more fun!” So that means I invited the brownie... Then a gray smoky cloud appeared on the chair in front of me. It shifted as if getting more comfortable, and suddenly a glowing eye the size of a saucer stared out of it at me. Can you imagine what happened to me?..
This kind of “misunderstanding” haunts Alexandra Ch. constantly. She believes that she caught this “infection” in the cemetery many years ago, when she was burying her witch grandmother.
If you believe the messages that sometimes come to us from researchers of this kind of phenomena, it is sometimes possible to become infected with “devilishness” without any participation of witches and sorcerers. You just need to go to the cemetery.

…Incredible events began to happen in Stefa Grigaitiene’s apartment (Veshvele, Lithuania) after she returned from the local cemetery after All Souls’ Day.
That same evening, in the previously quiet apartment, something began to creak and tap... At night the noise intensified. And soon the incredible began to happen. For no apparent reason, furniture began to tip over and dishes flew off the shelves.
Some “miracles” were by no means harmless. Before the owner's eyes, a pan with cooking meat flew off the stove and... disappeared without a trace. Torn by an invisible force, the sharpened knife flew across the room and stuck at the very feet of the dumbfounded woman...
Further more. Strange wounds began to appear on Grigaitenė’s legs and side. The doctor who examined the affected areas said that it looked like a trophic ulcer. And a local psychic explained: this can happen when a supernatural force absorbs a person’s energy...
The rumor about the “invisibility” quickly spread around the town. Among other curious people, journalists also came to visit Stefa. They examined the scene of the incident and interviewed eyewitnesses.
Witnesses said that before their eyes, lids flew off pots, chairs turned in place, and one man was pressed against the wall by an enraged table. During the impromptu experiment, the “spirit” was asked questions, and he very willingly explained himself to the curious by knocking.
For example, the question was asked: “How many people are sitting in the room?” Or: “How many of them have gold watches?” And the invisible man never made a mistake...
Local residents think that the spirit of a girl who once also lived in this house, but several years ago committed suicide due to unhappy love and was buried in the very cemetery that Grigaitenė visited on Memorial Day, has settled in the house of Stefa Grigaitenė.
Curious journalists went to the rector of the local church with a request from Grigaitenė to bless her apartment, and at the same time asked whether, from the point of view of the clergyman, the spirit of the suicide girl could have burned ulcers on the skin of the unfortunate Stefa, and at the same time stolen a pot of meat? But the priest refused any comments.
Experts in anomalous phenomena call such anomalous manifestations poltergeists. But this is just a word that does not explain anything, because the essence of the phenomenon remains a mystery.
This phenomenon not only has not yet been studied, but does not even officially exist.
It would be appropriate to say that poltergeists do not only occur among “ordinary citizens.” An invisible entity was rampant in the apartment of the pilot-cosmonaut V. Aksenov, and in the apartment of the physicist and full member of the Academy of Energy Information Sciences O. Dobrovolsky. But it did not have any influence on the “official circles” and did not force them to change their demonstratively skeptical attitude towards poltergeists.
We will not consider here all the features of known poltergeists and all the hypotheses that explain them.
And we mentioned this phenomenon, which has not yet been explained by anyone, only due to the fact that it is often accompanied by the so-called “sorcerer’s gift.” But in no case should one hang the stigma of “sorcerer” on people in whose homes a “noisy spirit” is raging. First of all, these people are victims of a phenomenon that has not yet been studied.
How can you protect yourself from it? Alas, there is no universal advice.
So what to do if miracles begin at home? Practice has shown that fighting them is as useless as fighting a runny nose. You just have to endure it, and after some time everything will go away on its own.
However, several years ago, when something similar happened in a Moscow apartment, its owner, who had tried all the methods and was completely desperate, hung signs on all the walls with the inscription: “No entry to otherworldly!” The joke worked and the poltergeist stopped.
We conclude: even in hopeless situations, humor can be an effective weapon.
Let us believe that you and I will not receive such “gifts”...

Return to the beginning of the section Secrets of karmic influences

Many people have probably heard about how hard sorcerers usually die. Such a person, even if he wants, cannot die so easily. He goes away and then comes back again. The author had to see witches who were in a dying state for a year, or even more. Their situation was simply terrible. They looked like a living corpse with signs of a complete absence of any consciousness of their own, which seemed to be guided by extraneous forces that had nothing to do with the personality of this person. This usually happens when a witch cannot pass on her gift to someone. What is the meaning of this gift? And why does everything happen this way?

In the books of Carlos Castaneda there is a mention of “allies”, that is, forces that help the magician in his work. The more allies a magician has, the greater his power. But this is a purely Indian interpretation. In European witchcraft, such forces were called companions of witches, and sometimes simply imps. They were inherited, or they were bought from other witches. For the most part, companions appeared in the form of animals and very rarely in the form of people. Of course, these are not living beings, but some astral projections that have astral power. They could be sent somewhere with a specific task that they performed. As a rule, these tasks concerned acts of witchcraft. It was the allies who gave power to the rituals performed by the witch. And they ensured the effectiveness of the damage. A sorceress could have several allies. Most often they manifested themselves in the form of cats, mostly black. However, this is not necessary; an ally can appear in any form - an animal or an insect. Sometimes its form, accessible to human perception, has nothing in common with any of the earthly creatures.

In the old days there was no concept of the difference between material beings and astral projections. Therefore, in those days the phenomenon of spirits was perceived as something material. A clear formula for separating these two completely different manifestations of reality was created only in the time of Newton. Perhaps this is why in the old days, completely real creatures, most often innocent animals, were very often mistaken for evil spirits.

So, for example, the fear that all cats are companions of witches was the reason for the almost complete extermination of cats in Europe in the Middle Ages. However, ordinary animals have never had anything in common with the ethereal demonic entities that appear in images similar to them. The Church has always maintained that the devil himself gave the witch companions. But how does all this actually happen?

In fact, an ally can be acquired through very complex shamanic meditation. The shaman (or sorcerer) lies face down and enters a trance state. His assistant beats the tambourine rhythmically. Next, the shaman seems to leave his body and finds a hole leading down. He descends into it and enters a kind of corridor leading to the kingdom of the dead. In the depths of the corridor you can find places literally teeming with all kinds of “unclean” animals - snakes, toads, cats.

These creatures are allies. They give strength to the sorcerer, while at the same time protecting him from troubles and diseases. However, like all demons, allies are fueled by a spiritual substance, that is, the blood of their master. They support the power of life in him, preventing him from dying in almost any situation. Maybe this sometimes saves him in some life situations. However, when the time comes, it is the allies who do not allow their carrier into the afterlife, since they do not want to lose food at all. Therefore, the sorcerer cannot die without passing on his gift to someone around him. However, this is only part of the problem.

Most true sorcerers actually belong to a circle. This means that in addition to the imps, he is held in this life by other sorcerers, living and dead. The prince also participates in this, that is, the demon of the circle, who is not a simple imp, but a super-powerful evil spirit.

The sorcerer of the circle is forced not just to transfer his power to someone at his death hour. He is obliged to pass it on to his closest relative. Thus, if a sorcerer belongs to a circle, then his entire family becomes the property of the devil, and the family often perishes while trying to gain freedom from evil spirits.

It may seem to some that people live well under the auspices of the devil. Maybe that's true. True, those of the circle of sorcerers with whom the author had to meet in his practice were not very happy about such patronage, as well as its side effects: alcoholism, drug addiction, joining the ranks of “sexual minorities,” periodic rape and incestuous relationships to which women are necessarily subjected of this kind. And, besides, in material terms, the devil does not spoil them very much, and when they try to free themselves, complete poverty ensues. And this is natural, since for the devil people are only food.

However, the sorcerers of the circle are a special caste. Regular witches draw their power only from allies. It should be noted that ordinary people can also have allies. It is not so easy to establish where and when they picked up small evil spirits, but it is very clearly visible in them. Many people have the gift of witchcraft without even knowing it, and there is a phenomenon of spontaneous witchcraft - the fulfillment of bad wishes. It is just as difficult for such people to die as for sorcerers, to whom they do not consider themselves.

What could be the way out of this situation? Probably try not to pass on your gift to anyone, but simply accept the sacrament of church communion before death. It destroys the effect of any witchcraft powers for two weeks, creating a kind of corridor that takes the dying person outside of hell. Thus, the former sorcerer can still avoid otherworldly punishment. True, after this, evil spirits often take revenge on relatives, plunging the family into poverty. However, sometimes they cope with this. But, unfortunately, it rarely happens that people dare to make such an attempt. In fact, the birth of a witchcraft gift is determined by external forces. What was described above is a consequence of deeper reasons. Revealing them, one can come to the conclusion that the sorcerer, in principle, is also a victim. Although sometimes quite dangerous.

Gossip, rumors, and speculation have become a source of certain knowledge since ancient times. In addition to everything, all the “acquired” knowledge was passed on from generation to generation and was distorted to such an extent that it’s scary to imagine. Naturally true concepts of who they are wizards and witches have lost their meaning, and in some cases simply become equivalent.

Who are witches?

Witch originates from the word “to know”, to have some knowledge. This is a woman who has knowledge of magic and practices witchcraft. Usually the witch is represented as a hunched old woman with gray hair, with crooked noses and a large mouth with pursed bluish lips. Remember the fairy tale about the sleeping princess, where the stepmother was a witch. She could take the form of either a beautiful woman or a terrible old woman. In fact, a young beauty can also be a witch; the gift is especially strong in girls with green eyes.

It is customary to highlight:

In captivity.

A natural witch is born if:

- girls are born seven times in a row, and not a single boy between them;

- or is a child of the third generation of illegitimate children;

- as well as simply being born to a witch mother.

The birth of a natural witch was influenced by a curse pronounced during the pregnancy of a woman carrying a daughter under her heart. Or in the case of the birth of a girl as a result of someone else’s death.

Many natural witches are not even aware of their purpose. This happens if a witch is born not directly from a witch, but as a result of a curse placed on the family.

The gift, in most cases, begins to manifest itself closer to adulthood. The gift will begin to work at full power under conditions of strong emotional agitation and physical violence. For a young witch to be initiated, she must be subjected to forced sexual intercourse. As a result of this, her powers will come out, and she will then be able to learn to control them. This can also happen by accident if the girl is not looked after by other witches. After all, a witch has bewitching beauty, and can easily attract a rapist, who will not only turn the girl into a witch, but also find himself in death. The witch's punishment will be cruel.

Scientists witches themselves choose the witchcraft path and are therefore more cruel. They become apprentices to a natural witch or sell their soul to the devil and feed on energy from evil spirits.

Sometimes you can gain supernatural abilities against your will or through deception. This can happen when a witch, dying in agony, is looking for someone to give her gift to. By taking her hand, you can take away her power. Therefore, be careful with those whom you suspect of witchcraft, so as not to inadvertently receive a cursed gift!

Are there any similarities between sorcerers and witches?

A sorcerer is a person with supernatural powers acquired at birth or by selling his soul to the devil.
Outwardly, the sorcerer looks like an adult or even an elderly man with frowning eyebrows. The smile on his face is almost impossible to see. To become a strong sorcerer, you need to study for more than one year with your mentor in case the person was not born a magician or with his father, a sorcerer.

Sorcerers, like witches, are divided into natural and learned, as well as forced ones. Sometimes sorcerers are divided into “black” and “white”. “Whites” are capable of helping people, but they cannot constantly do good deeds, since demons will force them to do evil. Most often, sorcerers practice black magic: they inflict damage and pestilence on livestock.

Wizards and witches usually settle on the outskirts of villages and towns. People know what they are doing and avoid the “unclean” house. But, unlike in ancient times, they try to honor the sorcerer or witch or simply avoid meeting them again.

In moments of despair, some turn to sorcerers for help. And since they act by inducing damage, you should beware of the reverse effect of the induced damage. The sorcerer can take the blow himself, or he can transfer it to you.

The sorcerer's assistants can cultivate a devil within himself who will carry out “unclean” orders. A small imp can be raised from a chicken egg without a yolk. The sorcerer wears it under his armpit for 40 days and only after that the devil hatches.

Like witches, sorcerers die a long and painful death if they cannot pass on their gift. They can even go to all sorts of tricks to transfer their abilities and leave the earthly world. If they still fail, then after death a strong wind, rain, and thunderstorm arise. A witch's howl can be heard in the whistle of the wind. According to legends, it is demons who carry the soul of a witch or sorcerer to hell.

A certain evil entity or, in rare cases, the soul of a deceased person takes possession of witches or sorcerers. It gives a person paranormal abilities, the ability to perform actions beyond the control of an ordinary person. Sometimes magicians could choose their faithful servant in the kingdom of the dead. It is known that witches and sorcerers are able to penetrate into the afterlife and in the corridor leading there, you can find small animals (in fact, these are not animals, but demons). These animals will serve their owners faithfully in gratitude for taking them from the other world.

Witchcraft power is practically invisible to the human eye. So damage is quite difficult to identify and many treat it with medication. While the rot of evil sent by the witcher devours them from the inside. If damage is not detected in time, the person will die. Therefore, sometimes it is worth thinking about such sudden illnesses and checking for the presence of a spell.

Difference between sorcerers and witches

It would seem that the concepts of a sorcerer and a witch are almost the same. The differences between them have blurred to such an extent that many believe that they are one and the same and the difference lies in the feminine or masculine gender. But knowledgeable people clearly know how they differ.
Firstly, both have the ability to transform into various animals. But witches most often choose black cats for their reincarnation. Sorcerers prefer to turn into a black raven.

Secondly, witches tend to control natural elements to a greater extent (causing thunderstorms, squally winds, hail, etc.), casting spells and hexes. Of course, a witch can perform certain ritual actions, but trained witches are prone to this, because they are not able to carry out magical actions intuitively, but act according to a learned plan.

Sorcerers have certain practices. Their actions are technical and most often based on witchcraft literature. The movie “Warlock” comes to mind, where the image of a sorcerer is presented.

Thirdly, there is a difference in the initiation procedure. Women and men who independently make the choice to become a witch or sorcerer sign a contract with the devil. The contract stipulates that the soul after death will belong to Satan, and in exchange for this, he undertakes to patronize the witch or sorcerer. The contract is signed in blood. But it is worth remembering that the initiation procedure for natural witches occurs through violence against an innocent witch girl. Sorcerers perform other ritual actions.
Of course, not everyone knows that ordinary people exist wizards and witches. And that's probably a good thing. As they say: “The less you know, the better you sleep!”

The Slavs believed that it was not easy for sorcerers and witches to pass on to another world, the magical power did not let go - “the devil does not let you die” - as they said in the old days.

Rice. M. Mikeshin (second half of the 19th century)

According to legend, in order for the soul of a sorcerer (witch) to go to another world, you need to dismantle the roof. The Slavs believed that if you look into the hut through a dismantled hole in the roof, you can see how the devils are tormenting the soul of the sorcerer.

In the attic, right above the head of the sorcerer's bed, they hung a cast-iron frying pan, which they hit three times hard, so that it could be heard throughout the hut.

They said that sorcerers die for several days and, trying to give away their power, shout: “Here! Here! People answer them: “Stick it in the wall.”

It is dangerous to touch dying sorcerers; you can unwittingly receive their witchcraft power.

Some sorcerers knew how to get rid of magical power themselves before death. They “put the devil in a stick” and left him in the forest; whoever found the stick would receive witchcraft powers.
Or they broke the ears of corn - whoever touches the enchanted ear of corn, “the devil will enter” his soul.

Rice. Leo Hao

You cannot meet the gaze of a dying sorcerer; his gaze can force him to fulfill his dying request - usually to harm someone.

At the end of the 19th century, in the Oryol province, they talked about a case in which a peasant woman met the gaze of a dying sorcerer, and, obeying a magical will, placed rye ears of rye in his coffin. On the day of the sorcerer's funeral, a thunderstorm began with hail, which destroyed all the crops. This went on for three years, and on the day of the sorcerer’s funeral it began to hail. When the villagers dug up the sorcerer’s grave and took out a rotten sheaf of rye from the coffin, the natural disasters on the day of his funeral stopped.

People were afraid that dead sorcerers and witches rose from their graves at night and frightened the living. Therefore, the sorcerer’s body was sometimes nailed to the coffin with aspen stakes.

There was another way to calm the sorcerer’s soul - to read prayers over the deceased for three nights. The sorcerer will rise from the coffin, trying to stop the reader. For protection, you need to stand inside a circle surrounded by a steel knife. Sorcerers cannot cross the circle line. On the third night, after reading the prayers, the sorcerer’s soul finds peace, and he no longer disturbs the living.
This ritual of nightly prayers over a witch is described in Gogol’s mystical story “Viy”.

In the old days they believed that there were “sworn prayers” that the priest should read after sunset over the deceased sorcerer. Only relatives of the deceased were present at the reading. Therefore, sorcerers and witches were often buried in the evening.

Sorcerers were not always buried according to Christian rites. There were cases when, during the funeral service for the deceased, objects began to move in the house, and a cross in the cemetery fell from the grave.

Surprisingly, everyday stories about dead sorcerers turned out to be very popular in the 1920-1930s - the height of the fight against “anti-revolutionary obscurantism.” I’ll tell you about Soviet sorcerers in a separate post, it’s a vast topic.

One of Satan's main tasks is to make humanity believe in his... unreality! And, I must admit, he almost succeeded: well, what kind of “educated” person in the age of “technology” and “scientific progress” can believe in “fairy tales” about some kind of demons and devils! However, the understanding that these forces are very real can only explain many of the “strange” phenomena of our time. It is no coincidence that the Holy Fathers and the righteous, who confirmed their “special” status with all their deeds and were incapable of ordinary everyday lies, directly spoke about the existence of demonic forces as the same (if not greater!) reality as the walls of their cells, the earth, which we walk, or the air we breathe.

Another clear confirmation of the above is the story of Hegumen N (Fr. Ephraim), set out in another of his books, which is called « ABOUT ONE ANCIENT FEAR (Who is “spoiled” by sorcerers and how)”. Here’s a “strange” and very instructive story that happened to him, the priest told: “Once I had the opportunity to receive reliable first-hand information about the forces that sorcerers influence both the surrounding nature and people. It was one winter night in 1992. I received a call from the gatekeeper asking me to see a woman who was shaking with fear and sobbing at the monastery gates. No amount of persuasion to come tomorrow morning had any effect on her. This is what she told me that night:

“A grandmother-healer named Maria Ivanovna lives in Lukyantsevo. Our whole city knows about her. Many people turned to her for help, and, as I heard, she helped many. I, a professional therapist, am well aware of cases when no tests, x-rays, ultrasounds or other diagnostic methods help make a diagnosis. The tests are normal, and the photographs show no pathology either. It is unknown: what to treat and how to treat the patient. But at the same time, a person really suffers from pain, loses sleep, loses appetite, dries before his eyes, and in some people, muscle atrophy begins. And what the reason is is unclear. So I decided that, probably, there are some folk methods of treatment that traditional medicine does not know, but which have been preserved by old healers. I love my profession and try to constantly expand my knowledge in order to help my patients as effectively as possible. For this purpose, after finishing the appointment at the clinic, I went to the traditional healer Maria Ivanovna. I came to her when it was already getting dark. Grandma listened to me very carefully and smiled. She really liked my desire to learn traditional medicine methods that were new to me. Her old eyes simply shone with happiness.

“I’ve been waiting for this for a long time,” granny whispered.

- What?

- So that a person comes to me, to whom I will convey everything! I don’t have any relatives left to whom I could pass it on. I liked you, daughter. I'll teach you everything.

At these words, I, stupid, almost jumped for joy: such luck!

“It’s time for me to die,” continued the granny, “but I still live and live.” I can't die until I give...

At that moment, I felt a kind of jolt in my chest. My soul suddenly became anxious. Somehow I don't feel at ease.

- Maria Ivanovna, can I treat people with your methods?

- Certainly! And you can heal, and take revenge on any enemy. It’s like swatting a fly,” and she laughed cheerfully. - Did you hear that half the village in Dubrovo burned down the other day?

And just yesterday I came across an article in the newspaper about a fire in Dubrovo, where several people died. I got scared and I said:

- Maria Ivanovna, but people died there!

- It’s okay, you can do even more, you’re young! And if you like a guy, you can make him run after you like a dog and, like a lackey, fulfill all your wishes.

- Wanting to stop the conversation that was unpleasant for me and take it in a different direction, I asked:

- Will you tell me how you diagnose patients, what methods and medications you treat them with? Perhaps I should write all this down?

- You don’t need to write anything down, daughter. All this is not done at all the way people think. They simply don’t know anything... And they shouldn’t know! Do you hear, they shouldn’t!!! - and she hit the table with her dry little hand. Her eyes sparkled with some kind of frantic flame. And I became even more scared. The old woman brought her face closer to me and whispered:

- Now I will tell you a secret that you must keep for the rest of your life, and if you spill the beans, you and your entire family will perish: both your husband and your children! - She was silent for a while. - I’ll give you four demons...

These words made me shudder with fear so much that the old woman noticed it too. But she understood it in her own way and began to calm me down.

- Don't be afraid of them! Although they are scary in appearance, they will not touch you. I will tell them that now you will be their new mistress.

I started to get a big shake.

“But if you’re so afraid, I can order them to appear so that you can’t even see them, but only hear their voices, and then you’ll get used to it.” Nothing, it's just
It’s scary at first, it will all go away later. You’ll get used to it, you’ll get used to it,” she repeated. - So they will help you: both heal and damage, if necessary; and bewitch anyone you want, and how to make medicine, and what
when the plot needs to be read. Everyone will advise and help.

Out of fear, I was no longer thinking clearly. There was only one thought - to get out of here quickly. But how? If she realizes that I don’t need her creepy “helpers,” she will destroy both me and my loved ones so that I don’t spill the beans. After all, she revealed her secret to me. And then I won’t live! I was in a panic, my thoughts were confused, I didn’t know what to do, how to get out of this terrible story. Suddenly, a literal inspiration came. As if from the outside, as if from somewhere outside. A saving thought struck me. Now I knew What need to say. Pulling myself together, I seemed to say quite calmly:

- Maria Ivanovna, today I came to you after an appointment at the clinic and was very tired. Now my hungry husband will return home, and I have nothing prepared... And my son still needs to help with his homework, but I no longer have the strength. Let's do this: the day after tomorrow I have a free day. I'll come to you
and we will do everything that needs to be done without any haste. Fine?

- Okay, daughter, let's do it this way. I will wait for you. Come,” and the old lady affectionately put her arm around my shoulders, “be sure to come.”

I don’t even know how I got out of her apartment or how I got to the bus stop. Fear penetrated me to the bone. Something had to be done. Somehow to get out of this situation, and even save the life and health of people close to me. I am a person far from the Church, although I was baptized by my grandmother as a child. Sometimes, on major holidays, she would, of course, go into the church and light candles. Well, in general, like many others. I don’t even know why, but at this terrible moment in my life, I felt that help could only be expected from the Church. But it was already dark, and all the city churches were closed. I didn’t know any priest; I had no one to ask for help. I was seized by a terrible, inhuman fear. The will and thoughts were paralyzed. I was in a panic, I didn’t know what to do. But here again there was some kind of insight. Suddenly a thought came: there is a monastery not far outside the city. The monks live there permanently, which means I’ll definitely find one of the priests, and even though it’s already nightfall, they probably won’t refuse help and advice. That’s how I came to you.”
