After all, then all these miserable attempts to impute to us some kind of false sense of guilt, put on the same level with the Nazis, which is especially characteristic of a number of Russophobic regimes in the post-Soviet space, would become a reality. First they would forget about their ancestors, then they would renounce them, then they would begin to "pay and repent", and then they would disappear, they would leave the arena of world history.

The success of the "Immortal Regiment" is the success of the whole country, and of all Russians. We not only demonstrated, including at the parade, our current capabilities in terms of military-technical modernization and our readiness to repel any aggression against our country. The most important thing, and this has been clearly shown by the last 25 years, is that without realizing oneself as a people and a state in history, without understanding the inseparability of the existence of a people, not only family traditions are lost, the country itself is lost, allowing some rogues from politics to tear apart a single cultural and linguistic space.

It is also surprising that the scale and geography of the "Immortal Regiment" this year did not allow even notable liberal critics to include their routine mantras about "everyone was rounded up and bought." It is impossible to round up and buy several million people, it is absolutely incredible. And this is extremely unnerving for our handshake public, as it once again clearly demonstrates the absence of any kind of support for their ideas on the part of the vast majority of Russian citizens.

The important international component of the "Immortal Regiment" should also be noted, the processions of which took place in dozens of countries, from the USA to China and from London to Kyiv. Particular courage was demonstrated by the members of the Ukrainian "regiments" literally risking their lives and being constantly attacked by nationalists. Residents of Odessa and Nikolaev, Kharkov and Kherson, Cherkassy and Poltava, despite threats and attacks, clearly demonstrated that the common Victory is a powerful consolidating factor. And this allows us to hope that the people of Ukraine will be able to survive the current dark times, remembering their ancestors and realizing their unity and inextricable historical connection with "big Russia".

The "Immortal Regiment" has also become an important reminder to ourselves. A reminder that we have changed at the same time, moving away from the disastrous course of discrediting our own history and abandoning the achievements of our ancestors, and, at the same time, have remained the same, retaining the best qualities inherent in our people.

We not only remember our loved ones who died so that we could live, Russia today opposes evil in its various guises.
