All the characteristic features of witches' meetings, starting with the place and time of their occurrence, the characteristic animals of the old cult (goat, snake, rooster, cat, etc.), sacrifices, general feasts, dances, animal skins, etc., up to sexual orgies - all these are features of pagan festivals, with their rituals, sacrifices, common meals and orgies, which were intended to magically influence the phallic deities of nature (for example, at the festival of Yarili). It takes place after the pagan holiday of Ivan Kupala. From time immemorial, the twenty-first of September has been celebrated as Harvest Day and the autumn equinox. It also served as an excellent occasion for a gathering of evil spirits. The thirty-first of October in the Western world is revered as Halloween - the Day of Evil Spirits, which is not a reason for a meeting. On the cold St. George's Day, December 9th, another Sabbath is also held. There are also extraordinary gatherings that are held at the first call of the Master.

Place for a witches' Sabbath.

There are certain places where no one has set foot and where no one can disturb the peace of evil spirits. First of all, a high mountain is selected, which at the very top has a flat area without vegetation, and its slopes are overgrown with such dense forests that it is impossible for an ordinary person to get to the top through them. For a witch, dense forests are not an obstacle; she flies to the place of the Sabbath on a broom, pitchfork or other “transport”.
